one birdy and a little guy and a bad mousie and a lion

Don't sizzle fat, sizzlean.

Flipping around the TV during dinner, landed on Extreme Makeover. They need a warning or something before showing that kind of nauseating realism on prime time. It's strange how movies like Dead Alive (weird, not seeing it on IMDB) don't bother me one bit, but witnessing a hoover shlorping out someone's yellow, sticky, and abundant fat makes me want to lose it. And of course, the moral of every show is "I realized it doesn't matter what I look like, it's who I am on the inside!"

Yeah, right. Why does this show exist, again?

Update: There it is.

Personally, I don't mind seeing the guts, etc., especially if the person really needed it, like in the case of major corrections.

What annoys me, but only a little bit, is when people get major surgery when they really don't need it at all- that is, they are simply doing it as a way to increase their self esteem, or because their friends are doing it.

Yeah.

I wonder why they never comment about the risk of death during surgery. I mean, if you have a 1 in 50 chance of actually dying in your efforts to be beautiful, I wonder how many people would still want to do it. Sadly, I bet that doesn't really change anything. The people receiving the makeovers must have to sign a novel worth of paperwork to get on that show.

Morbid, but if someone died during surgery, it would make pretty good TV to continue with it. Talk about a vanity lesson... Instead of having the stylist commenting on hair and makeup, you could have a mortitian talking about what kind of embalming fluid makes the cheeks the rosiest. The big unveiling would be an open casket funeral.

I mean, you gotta look good, even when you are dead -- right?

Let's not even go into talking about all the tv shows we have beefs with. :)

I've seen that show, and it bothers me. Why would anyone go threw that much pain just to look better.

You are who you are, just accept it. I would never go threw that much pain just to look pretty (maybe it’s because I’m a wimp and I’m afraid of pain). But honestly, how desperate does a person have to be beautiful that they would risk their own death.

JUST SAY NO!

The reason you didn't see "Dead Alive" on IMDB is due to the fact it was made in New Zeland and originally titled "Brain Dead", a name which another movie in the US had already been released under previously. :)

Why are people so shallow? I shouldn’t judge coz I can be pretty shallow at times too, but I have enough dignity not to reconstruct my face for the sake of looking pretty. Nor would I ever let someone stick a vacuum into my tummy to suck out my blubber. I might not be the most beautiful girl, but I like myself just the way I am.

So, in conclusion… BAND EXTREAM MAKEOVER?!? Or at least come up with a better show.

I noticed that your first name is Mahlon. My middle name is Mahlon(that spelling and everything), yet I never really knew how to pronounce it. How do you pronounce it properly?

I've been pronouncing it 'May-lin', though it's always fun to hear other people make up their own pronounciations. "Mahhhhhlone?" I'm more interested in hearing some origins for the name - it was a family name for me, and past that, I've got no idea where it comes from. I've had someone tell me that it is a biblical name meaning 'sickly one', and have also had someone tell me it means 'Great Lover' in Hindu.

Yeah. I'll take the second one, I think.
