At Fry's tonight, I bought 600GB of storage for $180. 5 year warranty, no less. 7200 rpm.

I'm walking out of the store, and I'm realizing... that's fucking ridiculous. 6 years ago I was working at an ISP that had a netapp 630 - the size of an entire rack, it serviced the home directories of over 10 thousand people, and was almost 300GB.

The thought never crossed my mind that I'd ever need anywhere near this much space for my own crap. On the flip side... that's a lot of "eggs in one basket" to ever lose. Shit, that's a HELL of a big basket. Time to blow the dust off my old DLT, and let it see some action again.
